I have bigger thighs and backside than most and normally have to buy a 36" waist to accommodate them; despite having a 33-34" waist.
In light of this, I bought the 36" waist of these and had to return them because the waist was too large (a little larger than other passenger trousers).
However, I took a chance on "my true to size" and ordered the 34" waist trousers. They are absolutely perfect, initially they felt tight in in the leg/butt, but the stretch works brilliantly, and they give a bit during use. They are so comfortable, to the point where you forget you are wearing them. Over the years, I have learned the hard way, what makes a decent pair of trousers, and these are it: no foreseen crotch tears and grand reveals. (In fact, all three trousers from Passenger I have bought are still in great condition).
I hope this helps any other blokes out there with big legs- these are the answer!
